| Trips to Dent,
walking the Pennine Way in 1973, having a good
gang of mates in OMEGA and eating five portions
of "fly pie" one time during school
dinners!!!! |
| Snowball fights
with the sixth formers trapped in the alleyway
between school main building and sixth form
centre. |
| Miss Bogle's
flying batons in the school orchestra, |
| Covering Mr
Westley's car in toilet paper (before it
rained!)on our leaving day, |
| Mr. Grays golf
practice on the field. |
| 1977 trip to
Harlech, setting the tents up in the wrong field
and having to take them all down again. |
| Crickets been
one of the loves of my life and still thankfully
being able to play at a good level even at
40something. When coaching the youngsters one
saying that has always stuck with me came form
'Bill Ford' when playing for the school team and
turning up to play in not so white white's.
"Dunny" he said, "for **** sake,
if you can't play like a cricketer, at least look
like one". As an aside I bumped in to Bill
at the Aintree Grand National meeting a couple of
weeks ago, He looks in rude health and keeping
himself fit these days with plenty of golf. |
