My main
reason for writing is to let you
know that a group of "old
girls" from the Girls'
Grammar School had a very mini
reunion on 30 August last.
The timing was crucial as one of
our number was over from Canada
at that time. These are the
'girls' involved from left to
right:
Pamela
Lewis (now residing in
Warrington)
Alys Wilson (now residing in
Warrington)
Linda Nolan (now residing in
Wigan)
Myself (was Gillian Roberts, now
residing in Maidenhead, Berks)
Gloria Brown (now residing in
Hertfordshire).Sylvia Skutt
(emigrated to Canada early
1970's)

Through
the wonderful Prescotian Website
and also Friends Reunited we got
in touch with each other again
within the last year.
We all started at the Girls'
Grammar School in 1957 (the third
intake of the school) and left
after our GCE 'O' levels in
1962. Linda and Pam have
been "best friends"
since childhood, being godmothers
to their respective children, but
most of us had not met for 40
years! We had a champagne
reception (to break the ice!)
followed by dinner at the Village
Hotel in Whiston. It was a
wonderful evening and we all
intend to keep in touch in the
future.
I thought you might be interested
to hear of another success story
through the site which you run so
ably. Thank you very much!
