| Clubs
held during the year include athletics,
gymnastics, table-tennis, basketball,
volleyball and swimming. Members of the
swimming and gymnastics clubs have been
working for A.S.A and B.A.G.A. awards.
Several girls have gained personal
survival swinging awards and six more
names have been added to the growing list
of girls who have gained the British
Amateur Gymnastics Association Grade I
Award. .
This
year teams have played in the St. Helens
and District Rounders, Netball and Hockey
Leagues. The rounders team won six
matches to finish top of the section, but
unfortunately lost to Rivington School by
3 rounders to 2 in the final.
1st,
2nd, 3rd and 4th year teams played in the
netball league. Congratulations to the
3rd year team on winning all 14 matches
to win the section and then beating
Selwyn Jones High School by 32 goals to 7
in the final to win the trophy for the
second year in succession .
They HI6
hockey team also did very well, winning
11, losing one and drawing one match to
finish joint top of the league. The team
gained its second cup by winning the St.
Helens and District Schools Tournament.
Congratulations
also go to Susan Rawlings on her
selection for the S.VJ. Lancashire junior
1st XI and the Lancashire junior 2nd XI
hockey teams.
