| This
year, for the first time, we were
invited to play in the St. Helens
and District Netball League.
After winning 7 of the 8 league
matches the 4th year team was
narrowly beaten by Mount Carmel
in a play-off to decide which
team went through to the final.
The 2nd years are to be
congratulated on winning all 10
matches in their section and then
beating Whiston in the final by
16 goals to 5 to win the 2nd year
trophy. Congratulations
to Ann Finney and Inga Pater-son
on their selection for the
South-West Lancashire junior 2nd
XI Hockey team.
Members
of the Swimming club have been
working for various A.S.A. awards
and including personal survival
and speed swimming. Four girls
have gained the bronze award for
survival, three the silver award
and Jacqueline Williams has also
gained the gold award.
Other
clubs held during the year
include athletics, gymnastics,
badminton, table-tennis,
basketball and volleyball.
The Volleyball team has played in
several tournaments, winning the
Merseyside League in June and a
Merseyside ladies tournament in
November.
Undoubtedly
the highlight of the year has
been Susan Rawlings selection for
the England Schoolgirls
Volleyball Squad and we wish her
every success in future
international matches.
