SAINTS School dominated the
Knowsley Secondary Schools
Basketball finals that were
staged at Brookfield High School,
by winning three out of the five
finals contested.
The
Kirkby School took the honours in
years seven and eight with a
double victory over St Edmund
Arrowsmith. This was followed by
a Year 9 success over local
rivals Ruffwood.
The Year
10 play-off produced a match of
great tension, in which St Edmund
Arrow-smith narrowly lost a third
final, this time to Prescot.
Scores were level after normal
time and overtime, which meant
the match was decided by a shoot
out from the free throw line.
Prescot's Jonathon Duffy holding
his nerve to provide victory;
although the man of the match
came from St Edmund Arrowsmith,
Shegan Okunade.
Prescot's
luck ran out in the year 11
final, losing to Knowsley Hey,
who won their year group for the
second year running. James Leyden
was man of the match.
