It is with
great sadness that we
report the passing of
Keith Macklin, who
attended the school in
the 1940s.
Keith was a well known
broadcaster in rugby
league and sports circles
as well as local
television and radio.Please feel

| I only met Keith
once at a Prescotian Reunion
where he was very gracious and
thanked me for the efforts on

| I was Head Girl at
the Girls School but my dad
Robert John Lomax was at school
with Keith Macklin and played in
the school football team with him
1946/47. (See Archives photo
...Keith is on the front row, far
left, and my dad is stood next to
the teacher on the back row.)
Whenever Keith came on the radio
or TV my dad would regale us with
tales from their school days. I
remember watching him present A
Spoonful of Sugar on Christmas
morning as Keith went around
hospitals giving presents to sick
children. My dad is sadly no
longer here to send his
condolences but I know he'd want
me to say our family are sad to
hear of Keith's passing. [Amanda
