Geoff Nulty
One of St.Helens
Town's youngest ever captains,
Geoff Nulty played with Town in
the early seventies before
becoming another target for the
Burnley scouting system. In a
distinguished career he then
moved on to Newcastle United and
towards the end of the decade was
signed by Gordon Lee for Everton.
Sadly his career was ended in
1980 following a derby match
incident with Liverpool's Jimmy
Case at Goodison Park. |

Eddie
Kilshaw played for
Bury and Sheffield Wednesday
after WWII. His transfer of
£20,000 was a British record
transfer fee at the time. Sadly,
soon after his move to Wednesday,
his career was ended by injury.
Became a teacher in local
Merseyside schools. In 1971 he
managed the Huyton boys team
which won the FA Trophy, no mean
feat for a team from a place the
size of Huyton. A number of the
players signed for professional
clubs but the only one to make
any name for himself was Peter
Reid of Bolton,Everton and
England fame, later Sunderland
manager, the assistant manager of
the team was Alan Bleasdale. |
