This was surely the best season in the history of P.G.S. football. The Juniors, after a hard struggle, won the Liverpool Shield for the first time, and the Seniors reached the final only to lose to Alsop after two strenuous games. The Seniors were perhaps unfortunate in that they were drawn away for all their matches, but overcame this disadvantage by dint of fine team efforts. Many of the boys both in the Senior and Junior side are staying on and will be available next year.

The following boys were re-awarded colours : Foster, Holt, Easthope, Thomas and Wright ; while Kent, Taggart, Spencer, Fairclough and Turton received their first award.

The First XI playing throughout the season was chosen from Kent, Holt, Brereton, Atkin, Taggart, Fairclough, Thomas, Percy, Spencer, Lloyd, Wright, Easthope, Foster, Turton.

The members of the winning Junior Team were : Stevenson, Lomax, Burgham, Mclntyre, Brown, Winfield, Machlin, Benton, Saville, Brereton, Mercer.
