| Here
is the complete record of soccer
results from my school year for
the 7 years of attendance. From the
Prescotian 1974 [Under-14s]
"The team had a good season,
being unbeaten at Prescot and
losing only two matches in all,
one of these sadly in extra time
of the Kirkby Schools Cup Final.
The defence was generally solid
but will solid but will have to
improve next season on a tendency
to give away undeserved goals to
the opposition through basic
mistakes. -Doran was the most
polished and consistent defender
and MeNally an effective
full-back until moved forward to
replace the departed Stickland.
In addition Hewitt, McKelvey and
Ratcliffe were hard and
enthusiastic players.The midfield
controlled most games due to the
drive of Tyrell and the subtle,
if fitful, probings of Jones. The
attack scored 160 goals(even the
best teams on Merseyside conceded
goals freely - S.F.X. 7;Salesians
6; St. Kevins 5) through the
sharp, powerful bursts of both
the leading scorer Barton, and
Guibertoni, and through the less
consistent, but undoubted skills
of Wilton, Kelly, Cookson, and
Bruce. Next season success will
only be achieved if all players
in the squad have learned from
this season and determine to
adopt a disciplined, united
approach right from the
start".
