Fifteen
year ten pupils are the first to
become Junior Sports Leaders.
Over, the past two months those
pupils have, been learning how
tolead sports activities.They
have been working on
communicationskills, teamwork,
organisation and refereeing. The
big test will come in June when
the leaders will be put through
their paces leading groups of
children from our local primary
schools.
Prescot
school is now part of the
nationwide active schools
project. Over the coming months
we are looking to add to our
already wide and varied after
school sports clubs. The school
is working closely with other
schools to develop sporting
opportunities for pupils.
Coaches, facilities and equipment
will help us achieve the goal of
getting all pupils involved in
sport.
Wednesday,
20th June is the day for
Prescot's first primary school
festival. One hundred and eighty
pupiIs will be using our
facilities, giving them the
opportunity to try new sports and
sample life at secondary school.
The pupils will be from Evelyn,
St Mary and St Paul and
Maryville. It will be a big day
for Prescot year ten pupils as
junior sports leaders. Peer
mentors will be on hand to help
the PEstaff to organise the
festival.
